
CAYCE – Funeral services for McRaney Fulmer, II will be held at 3:00 p.m. Sunday, December 16, 2012 at Broadacres Baptist Church with interment in Southland Memorial Gardens Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church.
Caughman-Harman Funeral Home, West Columbia Chapel is assisting the family with arrangements. Mr. Fulmer passed away on Wednesday, December 12, 2012. He was born in Springfield, SC, son of the late McRaney Fulmer, Sr. and Rosa Mae Williams Fulmer Brown. He served in the Army of Occupation in Berlin where he was awarded the Victory and Good Conduct Medals and played trumpet in the 298th AGF band. He served in the Army Reserves and was a 1951 graduate of the University of South Carolina in Civil Engineering. He was employed by E I Dupont then later began a 42 year career with the Department of Transportation eventually becoming the State Director of Highway Maintenance. He was a member of the committee that developed and implemented the Adopt-A- Highway program in SC. Mr. Fulmer was a member of Broadacres Baptist Church in Cayce where he was a deacon, Sunday School teacher and former choir member.
He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Anna Jean Hair Fulmer of Cayce; children, McRaney “Mac” Fulmer, III (Sheila) and Debbie Fulmer Gunter, all of Cayce; beloved grandchildren, Anna Beth and Rane Fulmer, Gray, Garrison and Griffin Gunter and sister, Mary Gene Brown Ransdale (Charles) of Denmark, SC and a large loving extended family. He was predeceased by brothers, Henry Fulmer, Terry Brown and son-in-law, John Gunter
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Broadacres Baptist Church Building Fund, 2350 Taylor Road, Cayce, SC 29033 or to the charity of one’s choice.
