

LEXINGTON – Funeral services for Patricia R. Johnston, 80, will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, October 25, 2014 at Caughman-Harman Funeral Home, West Columbia Chapel with entombment in Southland Memorial Gardens Mausoleum. The family will receive friends at 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home. Pastor Micah Merchant will conduct the service.
Mrs. Johnston was born March 20, 1934 in Jeannette, PA and passed away on Tuesday, October 21, 2014. She was a daughter of the late Frank Rugh and Hazel Witt Rugh. She moved to the Columbia area in 1985 from Tipp City, Ohio. She enjoyed gardening and knitting in her spare time. Her greatest love was caring for her family through her talents of baking and cooking. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend to many.
Surviving are her sons, Richard Johnston (Diana) of Tipp City, OH and Doug Johnston (Dona) of Garner, NC; daughters, Barbara “Barb” Lawson (Ron) of Cayce and Lori Sue Johnston of Lexington; grandchildren, Chad Johnston, Brandon Johnston, D. J. Johnston, Danielle Johnston, Wes Lawson (Kelbe) and Amanda Merchant (Micah); 13 great-grandchildren; sister, Jayne Lord of Seattle, WA and brother, Robert Rugh of Greensboro, PA. She was predeceased by her husband, Laird W. Johnston and brothers, Frank Rugh, Jr., James Rugh and sister, Helen Wallace.
