Richard Wayne Jackson, 78, of West Columbia, South Carolina passed away on Tuesday, January 7, 2025. He was born on October 7, 1946 in Greenville, NC to the late Virginia Bundy Jackson and Richard Jackson.
Wayne retired after 42 years at Westinghouse. He was a member of the Gold Wing Chapter P. He was also a member of Congaree Baptist Church where he served as Sunday School teacher and grounds keeper. Wayne loved riding motorcycles with friends and camping in the mountains. He also loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife, Carolyn Jackson; children, Tina Jackson, Michael Jackson (Michelle), and Brian Jackson (Hazel); stepchildren, Carla Kopacz (Michael), Russell Sharpe (Rochelle), and Laurie Harvey (Mark); and grandchildren, Devon, Conner, Stephanie, Samantha, Scarlett, Christie, Brent, Lindsey, Audria, Carsyn, and Layken.
A visitation will be held at 11:00 AM on Thursday, January 16, 2025 at Caughman-Harman Funeral Home – West Columbia Chapel, 820 West Dunbar Road, West Columbia, SC 29170, with a funeral service to follow at 12:00 PM. Burial will follow the services at Southland Memorial Gardens.
