Robert Brown Getts, age 89, of Lexington, South Carolina passed away on January 19, 2025. He was born on January 19, 1936 to Raymond and Mardorie Getts. He was raised by his grandparents William and Vera Brown.
Robert was a retired Captain of the Lexington police department after 25 years. He also retired from the Army and Marines. He was member of the Livingston United Methodist Church and Mt. Hebron Methodist Church. He loved fishing and traveling.
He is survived by his son Billy and daughter-in-law Mary Getts; granddaughters, Jessica and Jonah Bible. Great-granddaughter, Jayda Bible; sisters, Veranelda McCreary and Joan Lowery; brother Alan R Getts.
A graveside service for Robert will be held Thursday January 30, 2025 at 12:00 pm at Fort Jackson National Cemetery, 4170 Percival Road, Columbia, SC 29229
