Robert Elison Hood, age 88, of Gaston, South Carolina passed away on Monday, December 18, 2023. He was born on October 15, 1935 in Blythewood, South Carolina to the late Robert Clifton Hood and Pauline Nelson Hood.
Robert was the owner and operator of Hoods Tire & Brake Service before his retirement.
He is survived by his daughter, Tina Smith (Dale) of Gaston; son, Johny Hood; sisters, Bertha Hutto and Mary Strickland, both of West Columbia; twenty-five grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, and five step-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, Robert was predeceased by his wife, Nellie Donahue Hood; daughters, Althea Alberta Wright and Debbie Smith; brother, Marion Hood; and sister, Dorothy Ulmers.
A visitation will be held for Robert from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM on Thursday, December 21, 2023 at Caughman-Harman Funeral Home – West Columbia Chapel, 820 West Dunbar Road, West Columbia, SC 29170.
