Tony was a police dispatcher and started his career at City of Columbia, ending at City of Cayce.
He is survived by his wife, Lisa K. (Steele) Nelson; son, Lee C. Nelson (Charity); daughter, Carlotta R. Lindler (Gregory); three granddaughters: Marleigh & Margaret Nelson and Everlee Lindler; one grandson, Ryker Lindler; brothers, Howard & Dennis Nelson (Ellen); eight nieces and nephews; and four great nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his mother-in-law, Betty Steele.
A graveside service will be held at 2:00 PM on Monday, September 22, 2025 at Fort Jackson National Cemetery, 4170 Percival Rd, Columbia, SC 29229.
