Beloved Wife and Mother, Betty Jane Nash Sutton, left our presence to be with the Lord on June 24, 2017. She was born in Bloomington, Indiana, the third child born to Ray and Nettie Nash, and grew up with her sisters, Eva and Eileen, and her brother, John. During her teen years, she would go to the Red Cross and dance with the soldiers who were just back or about to leave to fight in World War II, and even though her father told her that she had "better not bring one of those Navy guys home," she did just that, and was married to James Terry Sutton, Jr. during those war time days on November 9, 1943. That "forbidden union" lasted for 73 years until James passed away in December of 2016. Betty and James eventually settled in Dallas, Texas, where they raised their three children and spent their life working successfully and seeing their children through to adulthood and on to lives of their own. They eventually retired and moved here to Waco in 2000 in order to be closer to their oldest daughter and her family. Betty was a loving mother and wife, and had a career of her own as a bookkeeper for several businesses in the Dallas area.
She is survived by daughter Pamela Skains and husband, Larry, of Waco, Texas, daughter Beverly Morshed and husband Farokh of Amherst, New Hampshire, and son Gary Sutton and wife Debbie of Castle Rock, Colorado. She had four grandchildren, Robyn Panayoton and husband Dimitri of Waco, Texas, Matthew Ker of Waco, Texas, Katy Morshed of Amherst, New Hampshire, and Michael Morshed and wife Maggie of San Diego, California, four nieces and one nephew, as well as one brother-in-law and two sisters-in-law. She was further blessed to be survived by three great children and two great great grandchildren. Her memory will be eternal in our all of our hearts.
There will be a graveside service at Oakwood Cemetery in Waco on Saturday, July 1, 2017 at 10:00 A.M., conducted by Reverend Rick Aguilar. Pallbearers will include Larry Skains, Farokh Morshed, Dimitri Panayoton, Gary Sutton, Matthew Ker, and Michael Morshed. The family will be available at Connally-Compton Funeral Home from 9:00 A.M. until approximately 9:45 A.M. on Saturday morning for a brief viewing, and would welcome all visitors who would like to come by before the service.
