

Claudio (Clyde/Guero) Torres Chavez, 77 of Waco, passed in peace on Wednesday, May 10, 2023. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, May 18, 2023 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church with Father Tom Frank officiating. Interment to follow in Oakwood Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. with Rosary at 7:00 p.m. Wednesday, May 17, 2023 with Deacon Tony Arocha officiating at Connally/Compton Funeral Directors.
Claudio was born to Luis and Modesta (Torres) Chavez in Mexico. He was longtime resident of Waco. He married the love of his life, Janie Duron in 1971. They celebrated 52 wonderful years together. Claudio retired from the City of Waco after 25 years of service. He was a honest hard working provider for his family and lived a very humble life. Claudio will be greatly missed. He is preceded in death by his parents, brother, Felipe Chavez, sister, Lupe Chavez.
Survivors include his loving wife, Janie Chavez of Waco; daughters, Delia Torres and (Mark) of Austin, Claudia Chavez of Waco, son, Ernesto Chavez and (Jessica) of Waco; grandchildren: Johnathon, Erica, Matthew, Christiana, Ernest, Jr., Angelina, Alyssa, and Adrian; great-grandchildren: Jaxon, Jaidon, Ilena, Giovanni, Alexis and Isaac; brothers, Rojo Chavez and (Juana) of Waco, Abelino Chavez and (Minerva) of Waco, Max Chavez and (Julia) of Waco; sisters, Lingo Coronado and (Eliso) of Mexico, Amelia Chavez of Mexico, Mona Rodarte and (Maxie) of Waco; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and a host of friends.
