

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, January 25, at Connally Compton Funeral Directors with Dr. Cary Killough officiating. Burial will follow in Waco Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8:00 p.m., Wednesday, January 24, at the funeral home.
Dollie was born in Waco, Texas on September 6, 1924 to Hugh Malcolm and Mary Ethyl (Summey) Haigood. She was a graduate of Waco High in 1944. Dollie retired in March of 1978 after 30 years of service as an operator for Southwestern Bell. After retiring, she and her husband, Thurman, took a six month journey around the United States. She was a longtime member of Third Street Baptist Church where she enjoyed singing in the choir.
Dollie’s favorite pastime was taking care of her family, making sure everyone was happy and fed and flea markets.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Thurman H. Brown; son, Larry W. Brown; sisters, Bessie Simons, Jewell Witt, Hallie Gaskamp, Pearl Sykora and twin sister, Ollie Price.
Survivors include her son, David M. Brown and wife Sandie; daughter-in-law, Wendy Brown; grandchildren, Shelby Brown and wife Kara, Chad Brown and wife Leann, Joshua Brown and wife Larisa, Adam Brown; great-grandchildren, Parker, Westin, Trevor, Lanee, Campbell, and Kyndal Brown and numerous nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Shelby Brown, Chad Brown, Joshua Brown, Ronnie Brown, Raymond Smith and Rodger Kennedy.
