

Eddie Pearl Lynch Smith was born 11-15-1919 in Waco, Texas. She joined her husband and others who had gone above on 12-2-14. Visitation will be 12-4-14 from 6 to 8 pm. A vigil will be held at 7 pm in the Connally-Compton Chapel. The service will be at 2 pm with interment at Oakwood Cemetery following. The Reverend Sharron Cox of St. Paul’s Episcopal Church will officiate.
Eddie Pearl was the daughter of Edward Patrick Lynch and Alice Mary Weaver in Waco. She lived in the same block all of her life. She attended Waco schools and baking school in Boston. The family thought she made the best pecan pies in the world. She married Thomas Monroe Smith, her high school sweetheart, on May 3, 1938. She worked in the Baylor Book Store for 37 years beginning in the early 50‘s.
She assisted her husband in his career as manager of catering at Baylor’s Sports events and assisted fraternities and sororities with their fund raising. They worked together when the new Baylor Stadium opened in 1950 catering the concessions, press box and various clubs before their retirement. They remained loyal Baylor fans all of their lives.
Each year, during the summer months, she and her husband traveled to Fishing Bridge at Yellowstone National Park with Baylor friends for a month or two. They belonged to several trailer clubs and enjoyed camping and fishing.
She was preceded in death by her husband; brother Woodrow Patrick Lynch, Sr.; sister Annie Rhoda Lynch Adams and husband Lloyd; niece Sharon Lynch Presnell; great-niece Laura Patricia Lynch Frasier; cousin Eddie Camille Forsgard.
She is survived by her daughter Robinette Smith Evans and husband Dale C; daughter Ruth Ann Smith. Grandsons Tad Robin Armstrong and wife Rhonda; Jay Thomas Armstrong; Eric Lloyd Thomas Redman. Granddaughters Annie Camille Penney; Leana Pearl Christina Tucker and husband Barney of McKinney. Great-grandchildren Rhoda Robin-Ruth Christina Myers and husband Joseph; Michael Edward Patrick Penney; Dale Chapman Evans II of Austin; Wilburn Lee Tucker and Sterling Charlie Tucker of McKinney; Thomas Gaffga and Jay Gaffga. Great-great-grandchildren Holden Joseph Carlisle Myers and Ferris “FiFi” Pearl Frost Myers (her namesake). Her sister-in-law Anna Lynch of Lake City, Florida and nephew Woodrow Patrick Lynch, Jr. and wife JoAnn of Branford, Florida and his children Terri Lynch and Woodrow Patrick Lynch III; a beloved cousin Jean Forsgard Robinson of Toronto, Canada and other Forsgard cousins. Her beloved dog “Suzette”.
The family wishes to thank the doctors and caregivers in the F. M. Young Heart Wing of Providence and Providence Hospice for the love and care of patient and family.
