Guadalupe "Lupe" Lopez Velasco

Guadalupe “Lupe” Lopez Velasco, gained her angel wings surrounded by her family on Saturday, February 19, 2022. Visitation will start at 6:00 pm, rosary to follow at 7:00 pm on Sunday, February 27, 2022 at Connally/Compton Funeral Directors. Funeral Mass at 10:00 am on Monday, February 28, 2022 at St. Francis Catholic Church, following burial at Oakwood Cemetery.

Lupe the youngest daughter of Joe and Elida Lopez was born and raised in Waco and was a lifetime member of St. Francis Catholic Church. Lupe attended Waco schools ,graduated from Waco High School and earned her Associate’s degree from McLennan Community College. She worked as substitute for Waco Independent School District where she worked for many years and retired from, she also was employed for over 10 years at Dillard's Department Store. Lupe was a caring mama, daughter, sister, aunt, friend, and dedicated grandma. Lupe enjoyed listening to music, dancing, and spending time with her family. She was preceded in death by her parents, brothers; Tony and Jesse Lopez. Sisters; Esperanza Lopez and Carmen L. Garcia.

Lupe is survived by her daughters; Cynthia Nevarez, Hope Turrubiartez and husband Efrain, son; David Velasco and fiancé Brooke Laughlin of Waco. Sisters; Adelita Salinas, husband Ralph Salinas of Bruceville, and Connie Lopez of Hewitt, ten grandchildren; Joshua, Serena, Matthew, John-Michael, Dylan, Emily, Amanda, Terissa, Taylor and Nolan, and one great granddaughter; Delilah, she was also very close and loved Several nieces and nephews who she loved dearly.

Lupe will be missed dearly by all.
