

James Terry Sutton, Jr. was taken from our presence on December 20, 2016, to be with the Lord, after spending 97 years with us as a devoted husband and father. He was born on August 19, 1919 in Eng-lewood, Tennessee to James T. Sutton, Sr. and Laura Brock Sutton. He served in the United States Navy for four years during World War II, during which time, he was married to Betty Jane Nash. They spent most of their 73 years together in Dallas, where he was employed in the Hotel Accounting Department at The Adolphus Hotel, and subsequently as the accountant for Oak Cliff Country Club, Northwood Club, and Prestonwood Country Club, all in the Dallas area. He also operated a private bookkeeping service “with a lot of help from his spouse.” He was active in the Dallas Hotel & Motel DFW Chapter and North Dallas Chapter of the National Association of Accountants (Now Institute of Management Accountants). He served a term as president of each, and was also a member of the Club Mangers Association of America.
He is survived by his wife of 73 years, Betty Jane Nash Sutton, daughter Pamela Skains and husband Lar-ry, of Waco, Texas, daughter Beverly Morshed and husband Farokh of Amherst, New Hampshire, and son Gary Sutton and wife Debbie of Castle Rock, Colorado. He had four grandchildren, Robyn Panayoton and husband Dimitri of Waco, Texas, Matthew Ker of Waco, Texas, Katy Morshed of Amherst, New Hampshire, and Michael Morshed and wife Maggie of San Diego, California.
He was further blessed with three great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren. He is also sur-vived by one brother, Joe Sutton and wife Barbara of Marietta, Georgia and sisters, Shirley Williams of Athens, Tennessee and Mary Culberson of Etowah, Tennessee. He was loved by each of us and will be missed by all.
There will be a graveside service at Oakwood Cemetery in Waco on Thursday, December 29, 2016 at 10:00 A.M., which will be conducted by the Reverend Rick Aguilar. Pallbearers will include Larry Skains, Farokh Morshed, Gary Sutton, Matthew Ker, Dimitri Panayoton, and Shane Howard. The family will be available at Connally-Compton Funeral Home from 9:00 am until approximately 9:45 a.m. on Thursday morning for a brief viewing time for anyone who would wish to come by before the service.
