

Janette Gross passed away peacefully on October 16, 2014, after suffering from Alzheimer's disease for many years. Services will be held at 1:30p at Connally-Compton on October 20th, followed with burial at Waco Memorial Park. The family will receive visitors prior to the funeral service, beginning at 12:30p.
Janette was born in Waco on December 24, 1931, along with her twin sister and best friend, Geneva, to Roy and Myrtle Taylor. She was educated in Waco public schools and graduated from the original Waco High. She lived and worked in Waco all her life. In 1978 she began a career with M&M Mars and retired after 21 years.
Janette was preceded in death by her parents, and all of her siblings, Geneva, Velma, Roy, Billy, and Paul Wayne; husbands, John Fitch and Robert "Bob" Gross; two children, Claude Harris and Kathy Fitch Hawkins; and granddaughter, Kerri Bartini.
Janette was survived by her sons, Michael Harris and wife, Donna, and Brian Harris and Rita; grandchildren, Sheena Dudik and husband, Jeremy; Tanci Hommel and husband, James; Kristen Bartini, Whitney Bartini, and David Harris; son-in-law, Ken Hawkins; nephews, Larry Brumfield and Carl Clemons, and several other nephews and a niece; and Chester Harris, the father of her sons.
The family would like to express their appreciation to the staff and caregivers at Stoney Brook in Hewitt, Westview Manor Nursing Home, and Providence Hospice.
