Johnnie Jo Burt Blanton

Johnnie Jo Blanton, 83, formerly of Waco, passed away Thursday, August 25, 2011 in New Braunfels. Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m., Monday, August 29, 2011 at Connally/Compton Funeral Directors Chapel with Judge David Wigley officiating. There will be no formal visitation, but friends are invited to sign the register book from 12:00 noon to 5:00 p.m., Sunday, August 28, 2011 at the funeral home. The family will receive friends 1 hour prior to service.

Johnnie Jo was born on November 11, 1927 in Kerens, Texas to John Joseph and Josie Boone Burt. Johnnie Jo was a longtime Waco resident graduating from Waco High and retiring after 34 years of service from Owens-Illinois Glass Plant.

Johnnie Jo was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Thomas Perry Blanton; daughter, Tommye Jo Balmos; 5 sisters, and 2 brothers.

Those left behind to cherish Johnnie Jo’s memory are her son, Perry O. Blanton and wife, Donna; granddaughters, Traci Balmos, Carly Blanton, Courtney Blanton, and Terri Balmos Broadnax; great grandchildren, Anissa, Kenney, Sidney, and Sutton; great great granddaughter, Leah Grace; and other loving relatives.
