Jose Julian Alonzo

Mass of Christian Burial will be 2:00 p.m., Friday, May 23, 2014 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church with Father Boniface Onjefu as Celebrant. Burial will follow at Rosemound Cemetery.

Visitation will be held from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Thursday, May 22, 2014 the Rosary Recited at 7:00 p.m. given by Father Boniface Onjefu, at Connally Compton Funeral Directors Chapel.

Jose was born February 17, 1928 in Mertens, Texas to Lorenzo and Isabella (Carbajal) Alonzo. He married the love of his life, Maria Espinoza, in 1952 in Ennis, Texas. Jose enjoyed carpentry, small mechanical repairs and lawn care. He was a devoted Christian and a longtime member of St. Francis and Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Family was the light of his life and he adored his grandchildren. Jose had the greatest appreciation for the simple things in life. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him.

He is preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Gregoria Alonzo and Siblings, Blas Alonzo, Lorenzo Alonzo, Manuel Alonzo, Fidel Alonzo, Anatasio Alonzo, Antonio Alonzo, Margarita Alonzo, Heriberta Alonzo.

Survivors include his wife of nearly 62 years, Maria Alonzo of Waco; sons, Sixto Joe Alonzo and wife Pauline of Fredericksburg, and Joe Cenon Alonzo of Waco; Grandchildren, Michael Alonzo, Annisa Alonzo, Miranda Alonzo, and Jeremy Joseph Alonzo and sister, Refugio “Cucka” Alonzo.
