Linda K. Cochrane

Linda Cochrane, 80, of Waco, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Wednesday, October 11, 2023 in Waco. Visitation will be from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM on Wednesday, October 18, 2023 at Connally/Compton Funeral Directors, Services will be held immediately following the visitation. Private family burial will be at Waco Memorial Park.

Linda was born June 14, 1943 to Earl and Mary Sawyer in Waco, Texas. During her lifetime she had numerous friends, she never met a stranger. Linda loved to travel, she visited all states except for Hawaii and that’s because she did not like to fly. Her interest were photography, scrapbooking, ceramics and painting. Linda was a huge Baylor Lady Bears Basketball Fan, especially when Kim Mulkey was the head coach. She loved to spend time with her family as much as possible. Linda’s beloved companion and special little girl is Harley, her little dog. Harley gave her many years of joy and happiness.

She was preceded in death by her husband; Gene Cochrane, father; Earl Sawyer, mother; Mary Sawyer, sister; Marie Sawyer, brother; David Sawyer and sister and brother-in-law; Eleanor and Hugh Rogers.

Linda leaves behind her son; Wesley Bailey (Rose) of Valley Mills, step daughters; Tanna Ritter (Tom) of Elgin and Trina Cochrane Monroe (Curtis) of Waco, grandchildren; Trisha Bailey, Misty Smith (Steven) Jerod Yvon (Chelsea) , Tracie Ogle (Dale), Tommy Ritter, Remington Smith (Shelley), Danielle Doughty (Chet), Kaitlin Rendleman (Jeff), Annabelle Monroe, Avery Rendleman, Vanessa Riley, Ashley Monroe, Matthew Monroe and Courtney Monroe, great grandchildren; Kole Smith (Violet), Bella Smith, Cody Shilling (Elise), Keira Ritter, Emma Ritter, Landon Cochrane, Zachary Charnovich, Jordan Dennis, Chloe Smith, Evelyn Smith, Karsyn Smith, Callyn Smith, Bearett Smith, Alyssa Doughty, Dusty Monroe, Cason Monroe, Liam Irvine and Olivia Irvine, great-great grandchildren: Lucy Shilling and Corban Shilling, niece; Lynne Harris, nephew; Hugh Madison Rogers and sister-in-law; Mary Ann Jacobs (Kent).
