My wife Joyce and I both had special Aunt Louise’s. Hers always showed me her affection. She felt closeness to me, making me feel special. I did a few things to show that I cared  for her, such as mowing her yard and washing her car. Once Joyce’s parents and I took her home after she spent Christmas with them.   I went home the back way and saw government helicopters flying. I turned around and followed them then met George W Bush’s motorcade going to his ranch at Crawford. The legacy a person leaves is the way their family lives. Louise and Claudie raised 2 great children who raised great children. I am proud that the Hamiltons were a military family and very successful. Louise will be missed

My aunt Louise and her sister Ruby were best friends as well as sisters. Mom would call aunt Louise every few days and they would talk and giggle about old times.  I can remember going to visit them in Waco as a child and my cousin Pat and I put together banana pudding.  I use that recipe today.  When I learned that she had passed away, I honored both of them and made pinto beans and cornbread, one of their favorite foods.  She will certainly be missed. Love to all the family.  Joyce Holden

My Grandma Louise lived a beautiful life and leaves a legacy all around her that is both impactful and enduring.  My memories are made up of homemade Big Red ice cream, BBQ brisket, homemade cornbread and crispy bacon out of cast iron skillets, and the most delicious banana pudding from scratch.  Playing in the backyard  with the long bean pods from their large Catalpa tree and tasting my first figs picked from a tree; Believing Grandma's job at Central Trucking made her the coolest Grandma ever and visiting Grandpa at Montgomery Wards in the Men's Department where he worked for years - learning the art of customer service and absolute humility.  I loved the fact that my Grandpa served in the U.S. Army as a WWII Veteran of Patton's Black Cat Division in the European Theater and the Battle of the Bulge as part of the Greatest Generation, supported from home by Grandma.  The opportunity the Army gave me to tour the European battle sites Grandpa fought in as a Cook and Tanker, along with getting to visit Elizabethtown and Fort Knox where they married one another at the Lucinda B. Helm Memorial Methodist Church was defining for me and gave me the chance to present Grandma with a memorial plate from the very church they were married in.  Together, they taught me the love of music and introduced me to the Oak Ridge Boys with me wearing the cassette tape out.  I loved that Grandma later in life joined a musical dance and choral group, allowing her to perform and share her talents.  These lessons in life are everlasting and I find peace that Grandma is reunited with Grandpa and my Aunt Patricia in a better place.  Never forgotten...Love you Grandma!
