

Fort Worth -- Mary Louise Carlile Hofheinz, 88, passed away Monday, May 18, 2015, in Fort Worth. Known as Louise, she was born April 22, 1927, to John and Bettie Carlile and was the youngest of nine children. Raised in Waco, she was baptized at Edgefield Baptist Church, graduated from Waco High School in 1945 and worked as a telephone operator. In 1947, she married Herbert Hofheinz, the love of her life and husband of 46 years. They made their home in Fort Worth, where she worked on the switchboard at JC Penney and later at Swaim Air Conditioning. She was a dedicated homemaker and devoted mother of two sons, Les and Darrell. Longtime members of Carter Park United Methodist Church, Herbert and Louise retired to Kerrville, where they joined St. Paul United Methodist Church. She returned to Fort Worth after Herbert’s death.
In addition to her husband, she was predeceased by seven brothers and sisters. She is survived by her sons, Les Hofheinz of Fort Worth and Darrell Hofheinz of West Palm Beach, and a brother and sister-in-law, Woodrow and Cathryn Carlile of Waco, and numerous nieces and nephews and their children.
An 11 a.m. visitation will be held Thursday in Waco at Connally-Compton Funeral Home, 4400 W. Waco Drive, followed by a noon service. Burial will follow at Oakwood Cemetery.
