Lovell McKenzie Hawk

April 9, 1911 – September 22, 2010

Lovell Hawk, 99, passed away Wednesday, September 22, 2010 at St. Catherine at Providence Park. Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m., Thursday, September 30, 2010 at Connally/Compton Funeral Directors Chapel with Chaplain T. Brian Pendleton of Providence Hospice officiating. Burial will follow at Vaughan Cemetery in Hill County. Visitation will be 6 to 8 p.m., Wednesday, September 29, 2010 at the funeral home.

Lovell was born April 9, 1911 in Corsicana, Texas to John and Mary (Bowen) McKenzie. She was raised in the Roger’s Hill area in a loving family that included three brothers and 3 sisters. She was a member of Parklake Baptist Church from the days it was known as Alice Avenue. She was a 70+ years resident of Waco.

Lovell was preceded in death by her parents; her loving husband of 62 years, J.B. Hawk; three sisters and one brother.

Those left behind to cherish Lovell’s memory are her children, James D. Hawk and wife, Jean, of Grapevine, Jerry W. Hawk and wife, Patty, of Waco, Vivian A. Richardson and husband, Mike, of China Spring; brothers, George Elwood McKenzie of Garfield, New Jersey, John McKenzie Jr. and wife, Norma Jo, of China Spring; and a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and other relatives.

Pallbearers will be Danny Hale, Jerry Hale, Jimmy Don Hale, Randy Hale, James Cris Hawk, Jason Hawk and Gregory Richardson.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Providence Park, in care of Providence Foundation, 6901 Medical Parkway, Waco, Texas, 76712.
