December 4, 1945 – December 3, 2010
Martha J. Koerth Durbin, 64, passed away Friday, December 3, 2010 in a local hospital. A private graveside service was held in her honor at Cottonwood Cemetery, Lorena, Texas.
Martha was born on December 4, 1945 to A.W. and Betty Koerth. She was raised in Robinson where she graduated and then went to nursing school. She was first employed at Hillcrest Hospital and worked in surgery. She later went to work for the V.A. Hospital where she retired after 23 years.
It could be said that Martha was the greatest mom on Earth, but that wouldn’t be enough. She never turned her love away from her kids or her grandkids. She saw to all their needs, whether it was emotional, financial or disciplinary. There will never be another to fill her shoes. She was a daughter’s best friend and a son’s steady hand. Not a day will go by that she won’t be thought of and missed.
She leaves behind two children, Shelly Durbin Snyder and husband, Scott, and Robert Durbin; three grandchildren, Tim Snyder, Daren Snyder and Dawson Durbin; and one step-grandchild, Felicia Snyder.
Martha Durbin now lies in the hands of God our Father, who will never leave us nor forsake us.
Arrangements under the direction of Connally-Compton Funeral Directors, Waco, TX.
