Myrtle Lois Taylor passed away on December 13, 2012. Visitation will be 5-7pm on Sunday, December 16 at Connally Compton Funeral Directors. Funeral services will be at 2pm, Monday, December 17 at Connally Compton with burial to follow at Waco Memorial Park..
Myrtle was born December 5, 1915 in Freestone County near Teague, Texas. She moved to Waco when she married Theodore Emmerson Taylor. After 40 years of marriage he preceded her in death in 1976. Also preceding her in death was her son, Jimmy Norris Taylor of Dallas.
Myrtle was a homemaker for many years. After the death of her husband she began working at Wood Manufacturing and later at Waco Apparel where she worked for many years. She was a long time member of Western Heights Baptist Church.
Myrtle loved flowers and birds. She always made sure there was plenty of bird seed for the doves to eat. She wrote poetry and she could play the piano by ear.
She is survived by her daughter, Norma Stobbe and husband Carl of Waco; grandsons, Michael Taylor of Quinlan, Texas, David Brian Taylor of The Colony, Texas, Steven Taylor of Royce City, Texas, and Jeffrey Taylor of Garland, Texas; and 2 great-grandchildren.
The family extends much love and appreciation to her long time caregiver, Doris Moore. Also, much appreciation to Providence Hospices’ caring staff.
