R.C Spoonts

Funeral service will be held at 2:00p.m., Thursday, December 21, at Johnson Drive Church of Christ in McGregor. Burial will follow in Rosemound Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 4 to 6:30p.m., Wednesday, December 20, at Connally Compton Funeral Directors.

R.C. was born December 31, 1920 in Pendleton, Texas. He began delivering milk by horse and buggy in Lubbock in the 1940’s and went on to work 34 years for Borden Milk and Ice Cream in Waco. After retiring from Borden’s, R.C. was a beloved school crossing guard at Mountain View Elementary School in Waco for 21 years.

R.C. was a member of the Johnson Drive Church of Christ in McGregor, TX.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Velma, four of his children, Bernice, Kenneth, Joyce and Chester, and one grandson, Kevin Spoonts.

R.C. is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Brenda & Jim McGuinn; his granddaughter, Lisa and her husband Scott Nanninga; grandsons, Michael McGuinn, Richard Spoonts, Nathan Spoonts & Jason Spoonts and 9 great grandchildren, David & Steve Spoonts, Brianna McNeil, Luke & Wyatt McGuinn and Fisher, Laker, River & Sayler Nanninga.
