Samuel Ray Betros

Sam was born November 8, 1959 to George Lee and Ramona Sue Betros in Waco, Texas where he remained a life-long resident. He happily worked at the family restaurant, George’s, for over 20 years. He later served his community by working with the City of Waco.

Sam was an avid hobbyist of tinkering and cooking. In his free time, he collected, repaired, and remodeled various furniture, automobiles, misc equipment and electronics. He spent much of his time perfecting the art of cooking, grilling, and barbecuing. Combining these with his blessings of good humor, contagious laughter, loving affection, and care for others is what truly made Sam an irreplaceable friend, father, son, and loved one.

He is survived and fondly remembered by his mother, Ramona Sue; his son, Samuel Christopher and wife Erin Ashley; his daughter, Anna Elizabeth; his grandchildren, Madeleine Grace and James Alexander; his sister Michelle Cleavelin and husband Keith; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and loved ones.

He is preceded by his father, George Lee; his brother, George Lee Jr.; and his son, Joseph Alexander.

Please help us remember our dearly beloved. Visitation will take place on December 21, 2017 between 6-8pm. Funeral services will take place on December 22, 2017 at 1130am. Both events will occur at Connally Compton Funeral Directors at 4400 W Waco Dr. Interment will follow the funeral services in the family plot at Oakwood Cemetery.
