

Funeral services will be held Saturday, October 22, 2016 at 1:00 pm at Connally/Compton Funeral Directors. Interment will follow in Oakwood Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 12:00 pm to 1:00 pm prior to the service.
Mr. Gilliam was born on January 3, 1946 in Waco, TX to Edward Giles and Donna Lucille Posey Gilliam. They preceded him in death. He was also preceded in death by five brothers, Kenneth, James, Herschel, Edward, Donald and a sister Norma Faye.
Tommy graduated from Waco High School in 1964 where he played football and baseball. He was an avid bowler through the years. Other hobbies included country and western dancing, watching football and baseball games, playing chess and other board games, reading, crossword puzzles, writing poetry and spending time with family and friends.
He served his country in the United States Army.
He moved to the Houston suburbs where he worked as a night supervisor for Reed Tool Company; he really enjoyed his time in Pasadena, TX. In the early 80’s, he moved back to Waco where he worked as a machine operator at WalWorth Company and later retired from Tymco.
Tommy is survived by his children, Kirsten Gilliam Glenn and her husband Mark, Kimberli Gilliam Dunham and her husband Todd, Carrie Michelle Hines and her husband Stewart from his first marriage with Paula Jean Thompson Gilliam. David Allan Gilliam and his wife Brandy, Candice Renee Lopez and her husband Rene from his second marriage to Karen. Grandchildren include Christopher, Austin, and Morgan, Joshua and wife Kaitlin, Caleb, Tommy Joe, Tommy, Joey, and Leo. His nephew Donald “Sonny” Gilliam as well as other nieces, nephews and cousins.
T. C. was a very easy-going, simple man who always wore a smile on his face. Those who knew him will miss his happy go lucky attitude about life. He will truly be missed by many.
