Brian Alan Moniz

Brian was preceded in death by his father, Stanley M. Moniz, and his sister, Carol Mae Moniz Mau. He is survived by his mother, Juanita (Castillo) Rodrigues; his brothers, Christopher Moniz and Mark Moniz; his sister, Valerie Moniz Bridges; and his beloved nieces, nephews, grandnieces, and grandnephews. They affectionately remember Uncle Brian for the joy he shared with everyone.

Brian was hardworking and dedicated, especially during his years as an employee at McDonald’s. He lived life with enthusiasm and kindness. While facing lifelong challenges, Brian embraced each day with determination and spirit.

Brian loved sports, especially track and field. He proudly competed in Special Olympics Maui events. Brian also had a special fondness for The Hulk, which brought him great enjoyment.

Sophia and Eddie Cabias were Brian’s dedicated caregivers for twenty-five years. He absolutely adored them! Please accept our heartfelt gratitude and aloha for the love you shared with Brian.

Funeral services for Brian Moniz will be held on Thursday, February 19, 2026, at St. Joseph Church in Makawao. Family visitation begins at 8:30 a.m., public visitation at 9:30 a.m. The Mass will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. Burial will take place at the Maui Veterans Cemetery at 1:00 p.m.
