Debbie grew up on Maui and in Douglass, Kansas. She attended H.P. Baldwin High School in Wailuku and took some college courses. Later, she worked on Maui at the DMV, for Budget Car Rental, and as a mason with the Mason’s Union.
She met her partner Christopher Krieg on Maui. In 1989, Jeremy Hill was born of their union. A few years later, Christopher returned to California and passed away in 1994. Debbie did her best to provide for Jeremy.
Debbie had strong faith, remarkable resiliency, and a positive attitude during her decade-long trial with cancer. She often said she could feel the prayers being offered on her behalf. She was involved for many years with the Department of Education as a fierce advocate for children on the Autism Spectrum. She was an accomplished photographer with favorite subjects being flowers and insects. She had a passion for Hawaiian genealogy, culture, and a special bond with the family home and the Keanae Peninsula.
She was predeceased by her partner, Chrisopher Krieg, and her stepfather, Marc Bagnall of Canada. She is survived by her loving son, Jeremy Hill of Wailuku; her mother, Anna (Smith) Bagnall of Kahului; her father, Clark Hill, Sr. (Heidi) of Kansas; her twin sister, Dianna Puahala (Jonathan) of Makawao; her brother, Clark Hill, Jr. of Kula; her sister, Doreen Bouchard (Frank) of New Hampshire; and her half-sister, Tawnya Balmoja of Kahului; nieces, Mele Bouchard (Tyler Wagner) of New Hampshire, and Jade Bagnall of Kahului; nephews Joshua Bouchard (Michaela) of Virginia, Jordan Puahala (Leeanza Akuna) of Makawao, Hunter Hill of Kula, and Clark Hill, III. of Kula; a great niece and two great nephews; and numerous aunties, uncles, and cousins in Hawaii and on the mainland.
