

Donna was the heart of her ‘ohana. She was known for her skill as a lei maker, which was passed down by her late mother. She always put her heart and soul into everything she did. Her greatest accomplishment was being the best mother to her children.
She is reunited with her parents, Rowena Aloha Nelson and Herman Nelson Jr. Donna is survived by the love of her life, Jeremiah Galase; her sons, Nakoa Galase-Nelson, Kekai Galase-Nelson, and Julian Galase-Nelson; her brothers, Imi Nelson and Erick Nelson; her sister, Sundae Stachurski; nieces and nephews; Imiloa, Casey, Liam, Joshua, Roman, Princess, Jeremiah, Cherish, Ester, Makanani, and all her babies that she loved beyond measure; along with all of her ‘ohana far and wide.
Services will be held on Friday, February 27, 2026, at Norman’s Mortuary in Wailuku, Public viewing at 6:00 p.m., followed by a service at 7:00 p.m., and on Saturday, February 28, 2026, at 8:00 a.m. at the family residence in Kawaloa, Hāna: 46653 Hana Hwy. Hāna, HI. 96713.
The ‘ohana extends their sincere mahalo to all family and friends for their love, support, and prayers. Special thanks are extended to the Nelson ‘ohana, Galase ‘ohana, Kuailani ‘ohana, and Piimauna Beck ‘ohana.
