Elvie de Guzman Casinas, 67, of Kahului, Hawai'i, passed away in the comfort of her home, surrounded by family and dear friends on July 4, 2025. She embraced in a heavenly reunion with her late husband, Salvador "Buddy" Casinas.
Born on November 13, 1957 in the Philippines, Elvie was a loving wife, devoted mother and grandmother, cherished sister and friend. She moved to Hawai'i in May 1990, following her husband, and brought along her eldest son John (aka Richard). In 1992, she welcomed her second son, Marc, and in 1996 her daughter, Irene.
Throughout her years living on Maui, she primarily worked at Four Seasons and later retired from Alternative Care Services. After retiring, she worked as an independent food caterer, as she was well known for her cooking, especially her famous Miki noodles and desserts.
Aside from her love for cooking, Elvie enjoyed spending time with her family, friends, and church members, and truly loved any opportunity to take a photo or video (or the occasional Facebook Live) to capture her memories. She enjoyed fashion ("lipstick is life"), singing and playing her guitar, driving around in her white Toyota RAV4 and Mazda CX-3, and had a strong love for her pets.
Elvie is survived by her children John (Grace), Marc, and Irene (Isabel), grandchildren Richie, Abigail, and John Isaiah, and family dog, Lego.
