

Pedro Sebastian Sales Macadangdang, 95, of Pukalani, Maui, went home to Our Heavenly Father on August 29, 2018 at Hale Makua, Kahului. Pedro was born on January 17, 1923, in Bacarra, Ilocos Norte, Philippines to Bruno and Francisca Sales Macadangdang. He is the eldest of eight children and was preceded in death by his parents, his brother Dolpho, brother Andres and his beloved wife Remigia whom he was married to for 64 years. As a Sakada, Pedro came to Maui in 1946. In 1953 He married his childhood sweetheart, Remigia Ulnagan in 1953 and together they raised three daughters.
Employed by Wailuku Sugar Company for 39 years, Pedro retired in 1983 as a Crew Chief at the Wailuku mill. Pedro served his church faithfully in warden and vestry capacities, the Filipino community with Barrio Fiesta, Saranay Maui and Bacarraneos of Maui, and MEO's senior citizens' farming programs.He leaves to cherish his memory his daughters, Lydia (Michael) Merrigan, Ruby (Ricardo) Farinas, Agnes (Duane) Hayashi; brother Santos Macadangdang; sisters Rose Colonel, Chonie Morales, Gloria Ilar and Carmen Gamiao; and grandchildren Melissa Merrigan, Andreano Farinas, Wesley Hayashi, Celina Hayashi and Thomas Hayashi.
The family expresses their sincerest gratitude to the staff of Hale Makua for their compassionate and tender care, to the church family at Good Shepherd for their love and fellowship throughout the years and to family and friends for their outpour of love, support and prayers.Visitation will be held at Norman's Mortuary on Thursday, October 4, 2018 at 6:00 pm followed by family sharing and Prayer Service at 7:30 pm. Visitation will also be held from 8:00-9:00 am on Saturday, October 6, 2018 at Good Shepherd Episcopal Church, Wailuku; with a Celebration of Life service following at 9:00 am. He will be laid to rest at Maui Memorial Park at 10:30 am.
