Richard Gusman Jr.

Richard “Bones Sleepy eyes” Gusman Jr. 72 years young , was born on May 7, 1953. Surrounded by love and presence of his family, He peacefully transitioned to his heavenly home on April 7, 2026, embraced by love and grace.

He grew up at Spanish B Camp in Puunene, Maui Hawaii and is the son of the late Gloria Harriet Yaw Gusman and Richard Gusman Sr. He is the eldest brother of Donald Gusman, Cathleen "Cookie" Senarighi, and Leroy Gusman.

He is preceded in death by the love of his life, Juliette Fernandez- Kim.

Richard is survived by his children: Tina (William) Duarte , David (Jessica) Gusman, Danielle Garcia (DJ Maielua), Sophia (Garrett) Arakawa, Aukai Kim, Dominique “Nikki” Gusman, Iokepa (Iwalani) Kim, Richard (Gabrielle) Gusman III, and Alexandra “Honey” Gusman(Jonathan Takahama).

He also leaves behind many grandchildren: Elias (Amber) Castillo, Chelsey Castillo (Kekoa Hoomanawanui), Saige Gusman, Leah Sardine, Naiya Gusman, Chloe Davis (Kim), Kane Gusman, Kade Gusman, Elijah Takahama, Naleigh "Lele" Gusman, Peyton Maielua, Arianna Arakawa, Lily Sardine, Xia Takahama, Kinsey Kim, Harper Takahama, Zachary Kim, Daniel Gusman, Gauge Gusman, and Duke Gusman.

Richard was also blessed with great-grandchildren, including Lyla, Elijah, and Ezekiel Hoomanawanui.

He loved to cook, going out to eat and most importantly entertaining at home. He lived fiercely, loved hard, gave truthful advice and was a straightforward man that was totally unbothered by anything. He will be deeply missed and forever in our hearts.

Services will be held at St. Joseph Catholic Church May 1, 2026 9:00 -1030 family and friends viewing, 1030 service. Luncheon and continued celebration of his life to follow at Eddie Tam gym.
