It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Sheryl Jensen Mrantz, a beloved wife, mother, daughter, sister and friend, who left us too soon after a courageous battle with cancer. Born in California, Sheryl’s life journey took her across the globe—from the Far East to the Midwest—before settling in Maui in 1989, where she met the love of her life in 1993. Their bond, filled with joy and deep love, was a testament to her extraordinary spirit. Sheryl and her husband Mark shared a wonderful life together, marked by a love that will remain forever in his heart.
As a mother, Sheryl was the embodiment of selflessness and devotion. She gave her all to raise their twin sons, pouring love, strength, and wisdom into them every day. The young men they have become are a direct reflection of her unwavering care. She also embraced her extended family and friends, offering warmth, love, and support to all who knew her. Her ability to make others feel seen, heard, and loved was a rare and treasured gift.
Sheryl’s battle with cancer was one of incredible strength and faith. Despite the pain she endured, she faced each day with grace and determination. Although she is no longer with us, her spirit and the impact she had on our lives will never fade. She is now reunited with her father, brother, and other loved ones who have passed before her.
The pain of losing Sheryl is immeasurable, but her family finds comfort in the knowledge that her greatest wish was for them to continue living with love in their hearts. Her husband and sons will carry forward her legacy, honoring her memory every day.
Sheryl’s warmth, love, and devotion will forever remain in our hearts. She was truly one of a kind, and she meant the world to all who were fortunate enough to know her. A hui hou, Sheryl. You will always be loved.
A private celebration of life will be held on the mainland.
