

Cliff Chapman is survived by his wife, Janet Granger Chapman, and his two daughters, Erin and Jennifer Chapman. He is also survived by his sister, Susan Boylan, his sisters-in-law, Debbie Perry and Diane Chapman, and his many nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by his parents, Clark Chapman and Barbara Arnett, and his siblings, James Chapman, Gary Chapman, and Sharon Keeley.
Cliff was born in Hartford, Connecticut on July 3, 1953, but spent most of his childhood in Catonsville, MD. While working in the retail field as a Sales Representative, he attended the University of Baltimore and received his degree in Marketing. Cliff spent the rest of his career as a seasoned retail manager, serving a General Manager for Montgomery Ward, Home Depot, and Big Lots. He ended his career as a Field Consultant for 7-11 Headquarters.
Cliff enjoyed golfing, playing poker, shooting pool, and following his favorite teams, the Washington Football Team and the Nationals. He loved to talk to any and everyone, sharing stories, memories, or talking about recent news stories. He always had a strong opinion and loved to debate. Cliff had a magnetic personality that drew people to seek him out for lively conversation or advice.
Cliff was devoted to his wife and daughters, working hard through his career to provide them with everything they needed, which allowed his wife to stay at home while his daughters were young.
All are welcome to attend Cliff’s memorial. The service will be held at Huntt Funeral Home, 3035 Old Washington Road, Waldorf, MD 20601, on November 12, 2021. The service will be officiated by Cliff’s uncle, Father Timothy Meehan. Visitation will start at 10 am with the memorial service beginning at 11 am. Family are invited to the family’s home afterwards to gather for lunch. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in his name to the American Cancer Society.
