

Donald Lee Flippin Sr, 71 years old, passed away peacefully in the comfort of his own home on February 7, 2025 with his loving wife of 32 years, Mamie, by his side.
Donald was born on June 21, 1953 in Front Royal, Virginia. He graduated from Warren County High School in 1971 and enlisted into the Marine Corps. He served honorably in the Marine Corps from 1971-1976 and courageously fought in the Vietnam War.
Donald worked in the retail business after serving and started his career in Chestertown, Virginia. He then became a store manager of McCrory’s in Petersburg, Virginia from 1980 - 1992. He then moved to Waldorf, Maryland and worked for Family Dollar as a store manager and regional manager until 2010. Donald started working for Promo Works, where he was a regional manager, then retired in 2019.
As a younger man, Don enjoyed running in BattleField State Park and camping. Upon retirement, he enjoyed going to the casino and trying his luck in the slot machines with his lovely wife, Mamie. He loved spending time with his family, watching football, and visiting Washington D.C. Donald was also a huge Tom Brady fan.
Donald is the son of the late Thomas Flippin and Helen Whorley and brother of the late Charles Flippin. He is survived by his younger brother, Wayne Flippin and his wife Carol Flippin.
Donald is also survived by his wife, Mamie Flippin; his oldest daughter Jennifer Vargo and her husband Michael Vargo; his oldest son, Donald Flippin and his wife Stacie Flippin; his son James Lambert; his daughter Renee Foster and her husband Jeffrey Foster; his daughter Rebecca Snapko and her husband Hunter Snapko; his 10 grandchildren, Tyler Yin, Zykerria Lambert, Michael Vargo Jr., Emmajen Vargo, Olivia Foster, Evan Foster, Andrew Flippin, Daniel Flippin, Avery Foster, Vanna Foster; 1 great grandchild, Lily Yin.
Donald’s family is having a private service. In lieu of flowers, Donald would want you to donate to the “Wounded Warrior Project” in honor of his fellow soldiers.
