

Louis David Receveur age 84 died at home on Wednesday, March 2, 2011. A resident of Brandywine, Maryland since 1950, he was active in community activities until his health began to fail. During his career in the Washington metro building industry, he oversaw the construction of numerous federal, state and local building projects. He was particularly proud of his work on the Robert C. Weaver Building which serves as the headquarters of the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development. A highly skilled furniture craftsman, he took equal pride in the creation of beautiful furniture. He was honored in 1980 with the Paul Good Award for Supervision as Outstanding Job Superintendent. Throughout his life he was a devoted and active member of the Brandywine Lions Club and was a past master of Centennial Lodge No. 174. Mr. Receveur was in the U.S. Navy. He was the loving husband of Agnes Gordon and Anna Riess both of whom preceded his in death. The loving father of Carol Buckbee, Sandy Woodcock (Bruce) and Cory Clements (Jim). Grandchildren: Becky, David, Bree, Meghan, Hilary and Julie. Great-Grandchildren: Savannah, Ryan and Willa. Sisters: Betty Lukacs, Lillian Bradley, Judy (Robbie) Robertson, Sharon (Bob) Reilly and Mary Ruddell. Brothers: Albert (Carolyn) Receveur and John (Jeannine) Receveur. In-laws: Albert and Louise Riess and Ernest and Doris Riess. A host of nieces and nephews. The Family will receive friends at The Huntt Funeral Home, 3035 Old Washington Road, Waldorf, Maryland 20601 on Sunday, March 6, 2011 from 2-4 and 6-8 pm., where funeral service will be held on Monday, March 7, 2011 at 11 am. Interment Trinity Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Brandywine Lions Club, the Baden Volunteer Fire Department of a charity of choice. Rev. Joy Rose of Piney Church Episcopal will officiate.
