Robert Clarence Jenkins

Robert Clarence Jenkins of Accokeek, MD, formerly of Rison, MD died on March 5, 2014 at the Washington DC VA Medical Center in Washington, DC.

Mr. Jenkins served as a Staff Sergeant in the Air Force during the Korean War and was retired from Eastern Airlines after 35 years of service.

Born March 30, in Rison, MD, he was the 6th son of the late Donnie Jenkins and Ruby Wheeler Jenkins.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife Irene Ann Donahue Jenkins, brothers Victor, Joseph, Sidney, William, Arthur, Donald, James Jenkins; sisters Evelyn Twigg and Theresa Pickeral.

He is survived by his son, Robert Dale Jenkins and wife Renee of Concord, NC; and his daughter Irene Catherine Jenkins and husband Cedric Welch of La Plata, MD; brothers Thomas and David Jenkins and sisters Marion “Sally” Redfern, Jennell Shouse, Mary Jean Anderson, Nancy Dowd and Ruth Pickeral and three granddaughters Brooke Connor, Mackenna Welch and Amelia Welch.

Visitation will be held at Huntt Funeral Home in Waldorf, MD on Thursday, March 13, 2014 from 6pm to 8pm. Funeral services will be held 12:00PM Noon Friday, March 14, 2014 at St. James’ Episcopal Church in Indian Head, MD. Burial will follow immediately after at Christ Church in Accokeek, MD.
