

Virginia E. Merry, age 105, was born in Bowling Green, Virginia on October 14, 1917 to Lonnie and Esther Whitaker. She was married first to Robert L. Miller who was killed in WWII combat, she married second to Raymond A. Merry who passed away in 1990.
She lived in different areas of Virginia and Maryland in her lifetime, living the last portion of her life in Waldorf, Maryland with her daughter Brenda and her granddaughter Terri.
She worked at the Bureau of Engraving and Printing in Washington, D.C. as a civil servant. She retired in the 1970s.
She was known as “Nana” by the Evans side of the family and “Pie” by the Miller side. In an interview given to Alexander Miller in 2001, she stated that she wanted to be remembered as a good person by everyone and she succeeded in doing so.
Survivors include:
Children: Robert L. Miller Jr. (Debra) and Brenda G. Evans (William, deceased)
Grandchildren: Robert L. Tessier, Mikaela Cox (Jonathan), Alexander Miller, Terri Boissonneault (Kevin) and William Evans Jr. (Kelly)
Great grandchildren: Amanda Cusick (Darrell), Sandra King (Christopher), Trish Bowling (Derrick), Archie Verdiglione III (Jami), William Evans III, Ryan Evans, Caden Cox and Ella Cox.
Great-great-grandchildren: Sydney Cusick, Gabriel Cusick, Austin Pankake, Jackson Bowling, Raleigh Bowling and Isaac King.
