
Born on April 10, 1947 to the late Richard W. and Vernie L. Baker, he is also preceded in death by his sisters, Shirley Virgin, Dorothy Warner, Janet Baker, Virginia Ritchie, and Hazel Noland. He is survived by his wife, Linda Ludwig Baker; son, Chuck Baker (Susan); daughter, Tina Syvertsen (Kris); bonus sons, Paul Ludwig IV (Carrie), Eric Ludwig (Emily), and Mark Ludwig (Kendall); granddaughters, Nicole Bays (Michael), Maegan Syvertsen, Hannah Syvertsen, Makenzie Macintosh (John), Caroline Ludwig, Isabel Ludwig, Natalie Ludwig, Margot Ludwig and Juliette Ludwig ; and grandsons, Joshua Syvertsen, Paul Ludwig V “Bo”, Jackson Ludwig, Logan Ludwig and Garrett Ludwig; great-granddaughters, Colbie Bays and Owen Bays; brothers, Richard W. Baker Jr. “Mickey”, and Donald M. Baker “Mitchell”; sister, Emily Early; and many other family members and friends.
Wayne was a United States Army veteran, achieving the rank of Corporal while serving selflessly in the Vietnam War.
He also owned his own auto repair business, Wayne & Son Auto Repair in Camp Springs, MD from 1990 until he retired in 2004. He was a hardworking, kind, and generous man, known for his great sense of humor and practical jokes. Wayne enjoyed buying & selling cars, playing & watching golf, and most of all spending time with his family.
A private military memorial service will be held in his honor at Cheltenham Veterans Cemetery Chapel.
