William Mooney

Bill Mooney died June 25, 2010 at his residence in Waldorf, Maryland. He was 65. Born February 12, 1945 in Buffalo, New York. After 22 years retiring from the USAF as a Master Sergeant he worked 20 years as a systems engineer for UNISYS Corp. Mr. Mooney enjoyed golf, the Washington Redskins and hockey. One of his greatest loves was walking his 12 year old Husky, "Smoke" every day. His presence will be missed at the White Plains Dog Park where he faithfully visited weekly. He is survived by his wife of 40 years, Linda Mooney who accompanied him on Saturdays to The Babes Boys Tavern. His children, Christopher Mooney of Georgia, Brandon Mooney of Lusby, MD and Devon and her husband Patrick O'Donnell of Chesapeake, Maryland. His grandchildren, Darrin and Dylan Mooney and his sisters, Patricia Beak of Syracuse, New York and Anne Marie Barnes. Family will receive friends at The Huntt Funeral Home 3035 Old Washington Road, Waldorf, Maryland on Tuesday, July 6, 2010 from 2-4 and 6-8 PM where services will be held on Wednesday, July 7, 2010 at 11 AM. Pastor Mandy Sayers will officiate the funeral service. Interment will be held at Arlington National Cemetery on September 1, 2010 at 9:00 AM. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made in his name to The American Cancer Society.
