She was born on December 11, 1930 to Ralph and Ethel (Shumaker) Hanenkrat. She was raised in Sugarcreek, Ohio before moving with her family to Hanford and attending school in Benton County. Next stop was Sunnyside, WA. where her parents acquired a lounge and children’s clothing shop while Ralph worked as a brick mason.
While working at Mojourner's Fruit Industry in Sunnyside she met the love of her life, Harry Dillman. They were married on March 7, 1951 in Wapato, Washington. Bev continued to work in the fruit packing industry until shortly before Harry's retirement as packing boss for Eakin Fruit in 1993.
Bev was well liked and had many friends in the Valley. Dancing and being with friends and family at the American Legion in Wapato, going to a favorite camping spot with their motorhome and Pixie, their little Yorkie companion, or having lunch and a game of cards with friends kept her on the go. When Bev and Harry were not with friends or traveling, her passion was working in the front yard that she meticulously maintained.
Harry; Bev’s parents; one brother Jack; two sons, Lonnie and Floyd; and one grandson preceded Bev in death. She leaves behind son Randy and wife Lori Dillman; son Harry and wife Connie Dillman; daughter Sharon and husband Alan Taylor; daughter Linda and husband Ron Hankel; grandchildren, Alisha, Richard, Lonnie G., Lonnie D., Kristi, Harry, Lesa and Dawn; and numerous great grandchildren.
Mom, you were loved by many and will be greatly missed. But we know that your suffering has ended and a new life has begun.
