Doris was born in Centralia, Washington to Opal (Phelps) and Archie A. Milner. They moved to Wapato, Washington when she was six weeks old. She graduated from Wapato High School and worked at the telephone company for a period of time until she met and married Arthur Delt Clark in 1935. They moved to California and lived there for five years
helping to run Clark’s Market. During this time their son F. Delt was born. They then returned to Wapato and became orchardists and had a packing shed and shipping facility. Their second son Dale Gene was born during this time.
Doris was a reporter for the Wapato newspaper and the Yakima Herald and helped in the warehouse and orchard with her husband and two sons.
Doris lost her BELOVED husband in 1971.
She loved her family, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
She was known as Grandma, G G, and Aunt Doe. She was most pleased when they were at her home enjoying her home-made noodles and snicker doodle cookies.
Doris enjoyed playing cards, crocheting and crosswords. She was very involved in the Federated Women’s Club for over 50 years, holding many local, district and state offices. She was also very active in the Parker Heights Presbyterian Church holding different positions and singing in the choir for over 30 years.
Doris was preceded in death by her husband of 38 years, A. Delt; her mother and father; sister Donna and her brother Gene. She is survived by sons, Delt (Mary Ann) Clark of Wapato and Dale (Virginia) Clark of Pasco; seven grandchildren; fifteen great grandchildren; and one special sister in law Bettie Milner of Seattle, Washington with whom she traveled and enjoyed her company for many years.
A Celebration of Doris’ life will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, November 1st, 2014 at Parker Heights Presbyterian Church in Wapato.

The family would like to give a special thank you to all the people at Riverview Manor in Selah for their loving and exceptional care and to Memorial Hospice for their help and care for Doris in her final days.
