Our son, brother, uncle, cousin and friend is at peace after a long battle with DIABETES and the complications it caused. Born November 21, 1971 in San Jose, CA and left us January 20, 2012 at Yakima Regional Hospital, rid of pain and suffering to join Our Creator.
After completing high school in Wapato, he began working for the emergency firefighting crews through the Bureau of Indian Affairs coordinated by the Yakama Nation. He also worked for the Yakama Nation Silvuculture program for many years before being forced into retirement.
Patrick had many hobbies throughout his life which included art designs for basketball, church, and award events and doing portraits of family and friends. He enjoyed going to the mountains for long drives, with his father, where he could identify with nature and the beauty that surrounded him in vibrant colors and scents that only the creator could create.
He was always willing to offer a helping hand to anyone in need without expecting to be paid back. His greatest love in life was everyone in his family and his friends, especially his father, who he spoke fondly of.
He spent most days having lunch with his special friend Trudi Strom (Stevens) his ex-wife, even though things didn’t work out they remained special friends along with her parents, brothers, and sisters. The Strom family considered Pat part of their family and most knew him as Uncle Pat.
He is survived by father, Ted (Pat) Stevens (stepmother Karen) of Yakima; mother Arlene Doublerunner of Wapato; brother Phillip A. Stevens of White Swan; sisters Nikki Stevens David of New York and Marinda Stevens of White Swan; niece Jerrilyn Stevens of Toppenish; nephew Phillip A Stevens Jr. of White Swan; aunts Janet Gone and Rosanne Doublerunner both of Toppenish, Laurice Kermani of Yakima; uncles Albert Doublerunner of Harrah, Darrell Doublerunner and Tom Gone both of Toppenish. He also leaves behind many cousins. Patrick was preceded in death by his brothers Arlyn Stevens, Aaron (Stevens) Weaselhead and his uncle Frankie Stevens.
A Dressing Service was held on January 23, 2012; He was taken to the 1910 Shaker Church for overnight services and then transported to Satus Longhouse for Washut Services. Burial was held at Satus Point Cemetery.
Arrangements under the direction of Merritt Funeral Home, Wapato, WA.
