Angeline Louise Nigra

Angeline L. Nigra, age 89 of Warren, died Saturday, December 26, 2009 at the Henry Ford Continuing Care facility in Roseville, Michigan. She was born September 17, 1920 in Detroit, the daughter of the late Otto and the late Marie (nee: Reynders) Scopel. In telling the story of her work experiences, the summation would be that Angeline was a consummate salesperson. Her resume was highlighted by an eclectic array of endeavors which included the sales of steel, clothing and airline reservations. While at Production Steel, Angeline's notable achievement was being the 1st woman inside salesperson to sell steel over the phone. Her history also includes time and service at both Winkleman's and Hudson's department stores downtown. But perhaps one of the most glamorous and rewarding positions was the one she held as a Reservation Agent with United Airlines. One of Angeline's passions in life was traveling, and her employment with United Airlines did much toward offering her the chance to enjoy her little getaways. Other interests Angeline possessed were an appreciation for reading and sewing. But when she wasn't working, traveling, feeding her mind or managing the needle & thread, Angeline loved spending time with her family and friends. A devoted mother, grandmother, friend and neighbor, her life left an impact on many hearts and lives of those who will miss her immensely. Beloved wife of the late Lawrence "Larry." Loving mother of Carole (the late Thomas) Rothe and Janice (Allen) Brunke. Dear grandmother of Cheryl Rothe, Karl Rothe, Laura (Dave) Kerr, Linda Gill, Lisa (Dave) Bartley, Becca Brunke and Terry Brunke. Great-grandmother of Thomas, Derek, Adam, Ashley and Carley. Visitation will be on Monday from 3-9pm at the D.S. Temrowski & Sons Funeral Home, 30009 Hoover Road at Common (12 1/2 Mile Rd) in Warren. Angeline's funeral service will be held at 11am on Tuesday at the funeral home. Entombment will take place at Cadillac Memorial Gardens East in Clinton Township, Michigan.
