Anthony J. Ventimiglia, beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend, of St. Clair Shores, passed away unexpectedly on October 14, 2025, at the age of 92. Though his passing came as a surprise, his life was lived fully, with purpose, laughter, and love.
Tony was the devoted husband of Beverly for 49 wonderful years. Together, they built a life rich in faith, love, family, and lasting memories. He was the loving dad of Bev Ventimiglia (Michael Orlowski), Annette Sokoll, and Judy (John) Chmielewski. He was also a proud grandfather and great-grandfather.
He was the cherished brother of Sarah Ventimiglia, and the late Vincent (the late Sophie) and William (the late Connie) Ventimiglia. Dear uncle to Vince (Colleen) Ventimiglia, June (the late Tim) Stackpoole, Bill (Sherry) Ventimiglia, and Joe Ventimiglia, he was deeply loved and admired across generations. He also leaves behind many great-nieces and nephews, cousins, and a wide circle of friends—especially those from his beloved bowling teams. His loyal dog, Sandi, was always by his side.
Tony proudly served his country in the U.S. Army during the Korean War as a field artilleryman—a service he carried with quiet pride. A master tool and die maker by trade, Tony owned his own hardware store in Detroit and later co-owned Anvin Tool and Die with his brother Vincent for 15 years. His strong work ethic, innovative mind, and entrepreneurial spirit shaped everything he did.
Known for his sharp mind and creative soul, Tony was an inventor at heart. He loved to build, fix, and improve—whether it was something in the garage or an idea waiting to be brought to life. He was always in motion, maintaining his home and yard with care and enthusiasm. He found joy in bowling and golf, and even more in the friendships those hobbies brought into his life.
Tony will be remembered for his infectious smile, his sense of humor, a good magic trick, and his ability to lift the spirits of everyone around him. He had a rare gift for turning any day into a good one, often with a joke or a warm laugh. He was the kind of man who brought people together—and kept them laughing.
He lived life his way—honestly, joyfully, and with deep love for those around him. His legacy lives on in the stories we tell, the smiles we share, and the kindness we pass along.
