Antonio Pulice, age 80 of Warren, died Sunday, April 12, 2015 surrounded by his loved ones at home. He was born October 17, 1934 in West Virginia, son of the late Bill and the late Mary (nee: Loretta) Pulice. With thanks and praise from a grateful nation, we pay homage to Tony for his service to our country during the Korean War era. As an artillery soldier in our great United States Army, he served from September 1953 to September 1955 and ultimately attained the rank of Sergeant. For the call to duty he so proudly answered, we honor his bravery and patriotism and extend our deepest, posthumous gratitude. Though his official employment capacity was serving as Plant Manager for a paper company, Tony's real passion was his involvement in the Warren City political scene. He found great reward in attending the many council meetings and staying in touch with the city's growth. A graduate of Detroit's St. Joseph High School, Tony's adult years would find him still engaged with the school through his association in the Dad's Club, where he once served as the group's president. A longtime parishioner of St. Hyacinth Catholic Church, Tony was renown for the years he spent as the school's baseball and softball coach. He was a wonderful mentor and leader, and helped many young students develop into outstanding athletes. Along with the sporting aspect, Tony's years at the church found him quite involved with other school activities as well, like the school's Teen Club and the Parent-Teacher Guild, the latter of which he also served as president. He also served as an usher, but will probably be more affectionately known as the "Top Banana"...a title he earned at one of the church's annual Banana Fest's. Some of Tony's favorite pastimes included his love of bowling, as well as the excitement and fun he enjoyed over a rousing game of cards. Whether it was his search for that perfect 300 game, or the pinnacle of a Royal Flush, the ultimate highlight of both was the pleasure in sharing it with family and friends alike. But of all the joys in Tony's life, the most endearing were the moments he spent with his precious grandchildren. And whether it was his own, or the many "adopted" variety, Tony was the greatest Grandpa around. A loving husband, father and grandfather, Tony leaves a legacy of love that will be forever cherished and felt with each reflection shared. He touched a multitude of hearts and lives throughout his journey,...he will be missed immensely and loved eternally. Tony was the beloved husband of the late Arlene. Dear father of Deborah Piontkowski and Robert (Terrie) Pulice. Loving grandfather of Samantha, Lindsey, Keviin, and the late Jonathan. Visitation for Tony will be held Wednesday, April 15th from 3:00 pm – 9:00 pm, with a 7:30 pm Funeral Service, at the D.S. Temrowski & Sons Funeral Home, 30009 Hoover Road at Common (12 ½ Mile Rd) in Warren. Please share memories of Tony at his memory book above.
