Barbara Lane Dombruski

Barbara Lane Dombruski, age 78 of Sterling Heights, and formerly of Warren, died Saturday, June 16, 2018 at Henry Ford Macomb Hospital in Clinton Township, Michigan. She was born February 20, 1940 in Escanaba, Michigan, daughter of the late George and the late Dolores (nee: LaMarche) Barnes.Along with working hard to assure her family the comforts of home and hearth, Barbara also worked outside of the home as a secretary within the Center Line Public School system. For 32 years, she poured the best parts of herself into her job and was an integral member of the school's support staff. Enjoying a wonderful balance between kids and adults on a daily basis, Barbara's life was rich with pleasure in the passions she experienced on the job. After a very long and successful career, Barbara finally accepted her well-deserved retirement and headed into a new chapter in life.Of the many pastimes she enjoyed the most, Barbara's love of traveling reigned supreme. Whether it was a short little jaunt close to home or an expanded journey to a far away destination, she loved adding to her travel portfolio through the places visited and the beautiful scenery soaked up along the way. But of all that brought her the most joy in life, the matchless love and devotion she held for her family and loved ones just came naturally for this adoring matriarch. Barbara was a loving wife and mother,…but an exceptionally passionate grandmother & great-grandmother. Her precious cherubs, those blessed gifts from her children, meant the world to her and were the light of her life. Spending time with them and making those special memories together were some of the pinnacle moments in her life, moments she held close to her heart. Family was the core of it all, and Barbara was right there in the center. She will be missed immensely and loved eternally.Barbara was the beloved wife of Kenneth. Dearest mother of Randy (Jenell) Dombruski, Diana (Kevin) Bastian, Melissa Carter, and the late Danny Dombruski. Loving grandmother of 8 and great-grandmother of 3. Sister of Linda (Don) Dobberowsky, Brenda Nasiatka, Bobby (Linda) Barnes, Patty (Wendell) Raby, and the late Jack (Midge) Barnes. A Memorial Visitation for Barbara will be held Thursday, June 21st from 5-9 pm at the D.S. Temrowski & Sons Funeral Home, 30009 Hoover Road at Common (12 ½ Mile Rd.)in Warren.A Memorial Service will be conducted on Friday, June 22nd at the Woods Church, 14300 Thirteen Mile Road in Warren. The family welcomes guests from 10:30 am until time of the service at 11:00 am. Officiating the service will be Pastor John MacDonald. Please share memories of Barbara at her guest book above.
