
Bernadine M. Stumpf, 80, of Warren, died Monday, September 26, 2005 at Lakepointe Senior Care Center in Harrison Township. She was born November 2, 1924 in Detroit to Fredrick and Elda Ouellette. Bernadine grew up in Detroit where she met her husband John. They married and moved to Allen Park. In 1959 they moved to Warren. Until her youngest child was 12, Bernadine was a stay at home mom, after that she worked in retail sales for Federals, Hudsons and Target. After she retired she was a volunteer at St. John Macomb Hospital in Warren. Bernadine was the nucleus of her family. She was the provider for everyone in her family. Her biggest joys were her family, grandchildren and sewing. When her daughters were children she loved to sew them clothing. After they were too old, she would sew clothes for Barbies and the ceramic bears that stood on the front porch. Her children always remember that she threw great Christmas parties. Bernadine is survived by her children Donald, Janet (David) Tuttle and Barbara (Robert) Bell; grandchildren Aaron (Ann), Andrew, Christopher, Lisa and Cassidy; and siblings Norm Ouellette, Marie Zillich, Toni Berendsen and Eileen Drangin. She is preceded in death by her husband John and siblings; Clifford Ouellette, Oscar Ouellette and Katherine Cowette. Visitation for Mrs. Stumpf will take place Thursday from 2-9 pm at the D.S. Temrowski & Sons Funeral Home, 30009 Hoover at Common ( 12 Mile). A scripture service will be said Thursday at 6:00 pm. Friday she will be in state at 10:00 am until the time of the funeral Mass at 10:30 am at St. Sylvester Catholic church, 11200 12 Mile, Warren. Interment will be a St. Clement Cemetery, Center Line.
