Betty Jean Heidemann

Betty Jean Heidemann, age 84 a resident of Warren for over 50 years, died Thursday, August 19, 2010 at the Hospice at Bortz Health Care facility in Warren. Betty was born July 23, 1926 in Detroit Michigan the daughter of the late Arthur Basel and the late Elizabeth (nee: Harte) Basel. Mrs. Heidemann was raised in Detroit and graduated from Denby High School. She later went on to Wayne State University to become a member of the first graduating class for occupational therapy. Her care for others was always put before herself. Betty worked as an occupational therapist in the healthcare industry for many years and lived by the credo in life Service to others, she prioritized her life with family, faith, and friends. Mrs. Heidemann is survived by her beloved husband Gerhard Heidemann, and her dear children; David (Beth) Heidemann, Mary Jo (Dave) Thomas, and Beth (Dino) Raptis. She is the loving grandmother of Nicholas, Lauren, Ashley, Danielle, Samantha , Benjamin, and the sister of JoAnn. Visitation for Mrs . Heidemann will be Friday from 3-9 pm, at D. S. Temrowski & Sons Funeral Home, 30009 Hoover, Warren . A funeral service will be held 11:00 am Saturday at Peace Lutheran Church, 11701 Twelve Mile, Warren, with Pastor John Schwartz officiating .
