Born in Cumberland, Kentucky, Betty would do anything for her family. Betty learned the value of hard work from a young age, and no matter what she was doing, she always put her all into it. A fantastic cook, no matter what Betty was whipping together somehow it was always delicious. Blessed with the “green thumb,” Betty’s vegetable garden was lush with different fruits and vegetables, especially cherry tomatoes, that she would then cook up for the family. At Christmas time, it was tradition for Betty to make her special recipe Christmas cake and the table was adored with many other family favorites. She made a great southern bean soup and potato salad as well. Everything Betty made came from the heart and was cooked with love. In her free time, she herself was a bit of a cookie monster, always snacking and sometimes leaving a trail of crumbs behind her. Some of her favorite memories were of yearly trips to Frankenmuth with her grandson Louis. Betty proudly earned the title of the best mother and grandmother. A beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and friend, Betty will be missed by all who survive her.
Loving significant other to Harry Green for over 30 years and wife of the late Larry for 25 years. Beloved mom of Lawrence Winters and Mark (Alice) Winters. Cherished grandma of Louis (fiancé Lutz) Winters.
Services and interment for Betty will be held privately, but family and friends are welcome to share a memory of Betty at www.ahpeters.com. Memorial donations to Susan G. Komen for the Cure, 3770 Noel Road, Suite 801889, Dallas, TX 75380, are appreciated.
