Beverly Jean Byrd

Beverly Jean Byrd, age 80, died Tuesday, November 13, 2018 at Henry Ford Macomb Hospital in Clinton Township, Michigan. Beverly was born January 12, 1938 in Detroit, Michigan, daughter of the late Hughie and the late Virginia (nee: Caines) Barker. To Beverly, her family was always her pride and joy. She held a special love for both of her daughters, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Along with spending time with her family, she enjoyed being involved in her church. Beverly was in charge of the nursery at church. She absolutely loved taking care of the babies and children, while getting a hug any chance she could from the little ones who adored her greatly. In recent years, Beverly volunteered at Bortz Nursing Home every Saturday making friends and doing what she loved to do,...taking care of others. Beverly was the beloved wife of Larry "Sonny" Byrd. Dear mother of Sheila (Gary) Kapanowski, and Sandie (the late Bill) Goslin. Sister of Chuck Barker, Patricia Higgins, David Barker and the late Jackie, Carolyn, and Bobby. Loving grandmother of Chrissy, Larry, and Victoria. Great-grandmother of Ondrea, Savannah, and Brionna. Great-great grandmother of Zabian.Visitation for Beverly will take place on Friday, November 16th from 3-9 pm at the D.S. Temrowski & Sons Funeral Home, 30009 Hoover Rd. at Common (12 ½ Mile Rd.) in Warren. She will lie in state on Saturday from 11:00 am until time of the funeral service at 12:00 pm at the Warren Missionary Baptist Church, 11285 E. 10 Mile Road, Warren, Michigan 48089.
