Bobbie Jean Demers

Bobbie Jean Demers, age 88 of St. Clair Shores, died Thursday, November 1, 2018 at home surrounded by her loved ones. She was born February 27, 1930 in Detroit, daughter of the late Fred and the late Lorraine (nee: Stevens) Elston.Bobbie Jean was a very proud woman who held her family in the highest regard and always made sure they were in want of nothing. As a loving wife, mom and homemaker, she worked hard to maintain the comforts of home and hearth and meet each need as it presented itself. Together with her beloved Gerard, who preceded her in death in 2015, they raised three beautiful children and built upon the warmth of family as they each grew deeper in love with each passing day. Yet for being the consummate homemaker and responsible person she was, Bobbie Jean held some outside interests as well,…primarily in her passion for shopping. Whether in search of a great deal or simply to satisfy a familiar craving, shopping brought out a host of various sides of her,…from the cost saver, to the competitor, to the fashionista,…but mainly, just a lady who loved getting out and interacting with others,…and perhaps arriving home with a trunk full of wonderful finds in the process.Another of Bobbie Jean's favorite pastimes was found in the game of bowling,…the All-American sport that serves as the perfect venue for bringing loved ones and friends together for a great time, and Bobbie Jean knew many-an-afternoon and evening that was spent amidst the laughter and frivolity as each competitor rolled in search of that elusive "300 Game." But without question, something which had become more precious than most was her passion for sharing a meal out on the town and leaving the cooking & cleaning to someone else. Yet of all she held precious, nothing could hold a candle to the love she possessed for her treasured family and friends. It didn't really matter what they were doing,…simply that they were together making wonderful memories, and Bobbie Jean held a storehouse of those very close to her heart. She leaves a legacy of love that is sure to be embraced with each reflection shared. She will be missed beyond measure, and loved to eternity. Bobbie was the beloved wife of the late Gerard M. Demers. Dear mother of Ronald (Deborah) Demers, Debra (Robert) West, and the late Randy Demers. Loving grandmother of 11, great-grandmother of 22, and great-great grandmother of 1.
